Lite frågeformulär för HHHH swapen. Sårry för ängelskan.
1. How long have you been spinning? What skill level do you consider yourself?
8 years. Intermediate.
2. What kinds of yarn do you create (singles/2-ply/3-ply/art yarn)?
2-ply and 3-ply mostly.
3. What do you spin with (spindle/wheel/both)?
Both. Mostly with spindle at the moment, but it depends on what my project is.
4. What are your favorite fibers to spin with? Anything you don't like?
Wool!! I love wool, my favourite is BFL. I'm not too fond of merino, and I don't like pure alpaca. But I like it in blends.Generally, I like blends, they're interesting.
5. Who are your favorite crack dealers fiber sources (etsy or otherwise)?
I have my own shop so I don't buy too much from other dealers. Haven't tried etsy yet, but I hope to order there someday soon. Have been a member of spunky club, but have just quit.
6. What kind of fiber do you want to try?
I haven't spun with angelina, or seacell. I like to try everything once, but wool, silk and some cotton is what I use most.
7. Is there any techniques you would like to learn?
Loads! I'd love to practice on my longdraw. I will try the wrap technique in the spring issue of spin off, I need to try cableing more. I basically need to get out of my comfort zone. Guess I'm just lazy
8. Do you dye fiber? If not, would you like to learn?
Yes
9. Do you have fiber prep tools (and like to use them) or would you prefer ready to spin fiber?
I have some tools, but I prefer ready to spin fiber. Preparing fiber is nice, but takes quite a long time for me, and I usually prefer to put that time into actual spinning.
10. What do you do with your handspun? What projects have you completed?
So far, I've knitted. I've made some sweaters, mittens, scarves. I'd like to weave with handspun linen somday.
11. Are you in need of any spinning gadgets (WPI Gauge, threading hook, etc)?
Gadgets are nice! I have a basic wpi gauge, a not very beautiful threading hook. I make do, but I'm a sucker for beatuiful things. I'm planning to get a McMorran balance, but I'm not sure that counts as a gadget.
12. What colors "fall into your shopping basket"? Any colors you just can't stand?
I like most colours. I tend to go for strong colours, or colours that are very subtle, it's all or nothing. I love purple, green and blue, and that's what I usually get. I don't often go for brown or orange, but when it's striking combinations - I can't resist! The only thing I really don't like is black mixed with yellow. It looks dirty to me. And I don't like too many colours in one yarn/roving, it muddles everything up.
13. What is on your wheel/spindle right now?
I'm spinning a secret project for another secret pal on my wheel and I'm spinning some ultrapink merino/silk on a spindle, and some brown BFL on a spindle.
14. What other crafts/hobbies do you have?
Knitting, crocheting, weaving, re-enactment
15. Other than crafts, what are you passionate about?
Literature
16. Do you have an online wishlist?
Yes. Amazone I think. I'll try to make on for Etsy if it's possible to get it online.
17. Is there anything that you collect?
Spindles? But I don't collect them for the sake of collection alone, I like to use them too.
18. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What magazine subscriptions do you have?
I subscribe to Spin off - love it! I'd love to get my hands on a copy of Paula Simmons "Turning Wool into a Cottage Industry" and "Handspun treasures of rare wools"
19. When is your birthday?
18th August
20. What book or movie character do you most resemble in personality?
Lotta in "Visst kan Lotta" cykla by Astrid Lindgren.
21. What is the climate like where you live around this time (need to know for careful shipments of anything meltable)?
Warm and sunny! But not too hot, around 20-25 C.
22. Tell us one weird fact about yourself!
I can assemble almost any IKEA furniture in no time at all.
